Working with NGOs to Install Green Infrastructure
March 2016
Kelly Lindow from CityScape and Christina Bradley from Bradley Professional Project Services recently presented to the Chesapeake Bay EWRI group regarding green infrastructure design and implementation partnership efforts between non-profits, communities, for-profit industries and local government. The presentation can be found here:
PART 1 (PDF file, 6.1 MB)
PART 2 (PDF file, 8.9 MB)
Abstract: The growing popularity of green infrastructure, along with increasing stormwater restoration requirements, has resulted in more funds available for the installation of new and innovative stormwater management practices. Several area non-profit groups and non-governmental organizations (NGO), such as Parks and People Foundation and Blue Water Baltimore, have sought these funds to implement unique and voluntary restoration strategies throughout the mid-Atlantic region. These strategies involve close partnership with local government and the professional design community. CityScape Engineering has been working with a number of NGOs to design, permit and implement various green infrastructure projects. In this presentation, speakers will discuss current and future NGO initiatives and partnerships; share recent project examples; discuss challenges and lessons learned; and talk about the differences working with NGOs vs. traditional developers.
